Their food was so bad, on the day they served Cod, half our staff got sick. And honestly, when you serve garbage, it's displayed in a bin. To which he questioned my credentials as a chef because I did not refer to them as "Chafing Dishes". When I asked the chef what it was, I was told "Philly Cheesesteak", which we all know has cheese in it. When I looked at their offerings, I was disappointed to see only bread, salad and something that consisted of 75% onions and 25% shredded meat. So I went to get supper and was introduced to a Gordon wannabe. I wasn't feeling well but needed something bland. But on the second day my eyes were met with complete arrogance. The front office and housekeeping were phenomenal where my needs were concerned. The workforce was treated like a fifth world country. The winter games contracted us and put us up at the lodge. I’m so disappointed with the level of quality and care people exhibit now a days. Then when we discussed our concerns and asked for someone to call us we received no call. The only good thing was the water park and the water park staff. So we wasted 40 bucks on a flimsy card that chipped the next day. It was next to the arcade games so we assumed this printable card is used for that. THEN we went to get arcade tickets and they had a printable card which was completely misleading. We ended up getting sick from the food and took us a few hours to be able to go back to the pool and swim.

So then we go to Johnny Rockets which yes is technically a different establishment but it’s connected to this place. I mentioned this to front staff and they didn’t even acknowledge it. The phone lines were out and the cable went in and out. They give us the last Crib available that is BROKEN so my husband had to fix it. Then, we requested a crib, keep in mind I called the day prior to let them know this. We first get there and the room they give us the door is open. Only good thing about this place is their water park, I suggest just getting a day pass and not spending the night. We will definitely be back again! Thank you for a great trip! With 3 young kids this was the perfect trip and the kids are already asking to go back. We loved the little Starbucks coffee shop and the quick service food wasn't that bad at all. The indoor water park is small but with so much to do in the Lake George area we explored and then came back and went to the indoor water park from 5pm - 9pm and it was a perfect amount of time. Yes, the indoor water park in small and the non updated rooms are little outdated but have you stayed at the Tiki or Fort William. But we went in with low expectations and we had an AMAZING time. After reading many reviews, we were defiantly skeptical. We LOVE Lake George and when we were looking for a place to stay for presidents break we decided to give Great Escape lodge a try. We have been coming to Lake George for over 20 years so we know the different ranges of hotels that are offered here. it's not the Ritz Carlton, your not going to a luxurious beach retreat, your going to a indoor water park in Lake George. These hotels may also be interesting for you.So, the biggest thing people have to realize is that this is Lake George.
